śrī-śuka uvāca

tad-uktam ity upākarṇya

bhagavān praṇatārti-hā

gṛhītvā pāṇinā pāṇiḿ

prahasaḿs tam uvāca ha

sri-sukah uvaca -- Sri Sukadeva Gosvami said; tat -- by him (Srutadeva); uktam -- what was spoken; iti -- thus; upakarnya -- hearing; bhagavan -- the Supreme Lord; pranata -- of the surrendered; arti -- of distress; ha -- the destroyer; grihitva -- taking; panina -- with His hand; panim -- his hand; prahasan -- smiling broadly; tam -- to him; uvaca ha -- said.

Sri Sukadeva Gosvami said: After hearing Srutadeva speak these words, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who relieves His surrendered devotees' distress, took Srutadeva's hand in His own and, smiling, spoke to him as follows.

Significado

Acarya Visvanatha comments that Lord Krishna took Srutadeva's hand and smiled as a gesture of friendship, to tell Him, "Yes, you know the truth about Me, and I also know all about you. So now I will tell you something special."
