ekam pādaḿ padākramya

dorbhyām anyaḿ pragṛhya saḥ

gudataḥ pāṭayām āsa

śākham iva mahā-gajaḥ

ekam -- one; padam -- leg; pada -- with his foot; akramya -- standing on top of; dorbhyam -- with his two hands; anyam -- the other; pragrihya -- taking hold of; sah -- he; gudatah -- beginning from the anus; patayam asa -- tore him asunder; sakham -- a tree branch; iva -- as; maha -- great; gajah -- an elephant.

Bhima pressed down on one leg with his foot while grabbing Jarasandha's other leg in his hands, and just as a great elephant might break the branch of a tree, Bhima tore Jarasandha apart from the anus upward.
