atha - thereafter; tÄrká¹£ya-sutaḥ - Garuá¸a; jñÄtvÄ - knowing; virÄá¹ - the king of birds; prabhu-cikÄ«rá¹£itam - the desire of Lord Viṣṇu as VÄmanadeva; babandha - arrested; vÄruṇaiḥ - belonging to Varuṇa; pÄÅ›aiḥ - by the ropes; balim - Bali; sÅ«tye - when soma-rasa is taken; ahani - on the day; kratau - at the time of sacrifice.
