श्रीशुक उवाच
पराजितश्रीरसुभिश्च हापितो
हीन्द्रेण राजन्भृगुभिः स जीवितः ।
सर्वात्मना तानभजद् भृगून्बलिः
शिष्यो महात्मार्थनिवेदनेन ॥३॥

Å›iá¹£yo mahÄtmÄrtha-nivedanena

 Å›rÄ«-Å›ukaḥ uvÄca - ÅšrÄ« Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said; parÄjita - being defeated; Å›rīḥ - opulences; asubhiḥ ca - of life also; hÄpitaḥ - deprived; hi - indeed; indreṇa - by King Indra; rÄjan - O King; bhá¹›gubhiḥ - by the descendants of Bhá¹›gu Muni; saḥ - he (Bali MahÄrÄja); jÄ«vitaḥ - brought back to life; sarva-ÄtmanÄ - in full submission; tÄn - them; abhajat - worshiped; bhá¹›gÅ«n - the descendants of Bhá¹›gu Muni; baliḥ - MahÄrÄja Bali; Å›iá¹£yaḥ - a disciple; mahÄtmÄ - the great soul; artha-nivedanena - by giving them everything.

Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said: O King, when Bali MahÄrÄja lost all his opulence and died in the fight, ÅšukrÄcÄrya, a descendant of Bhá¹›gu Muni, brought him back to life. Because of this, the great soul Bali MahÄrÄja became a disciple of ÅšukrÄcÄrya and began to serve him with great faith, offering everything he had.
