यां न व्रजन्त्यधर्मिष्ठाः खला भूतद्रुहः शठाः ।
मानिनः कामिनो लुब्धा एभिर्हीना व्रजन्ति यत् ॥२२॥

khalÄ bhÅ«ta-druhaḥ Å›aá¹­hÄḥ
mÄninaḥ kÄmino lubdhÄ
ebhir hÄ«nÄ vrajanti yat

 yÄm - in the streets of the city; na - not; vrajanti - pass; adharmiṣṭhÄḥ - irreligious persons; khalÄḥ - envious persons; bhÅ«ta-druhaḥ - persons violent toward other living entities; Å›aá¹­hÄḥ - cheaters; mÄninaḥ - falsely prestigious; kÄminaḥ - lusty; lubdhÄḥ - greedy; ebhiḥ - these; hÄ«nÄḥ - completely devoid of; vrajanti - walk; yat - on the street.


Text

No one who was sinful, envious, violent toward other living entities, cunning, falsely proud, lusty or greedy could enter that city. The people who lived there were all devoid of these faults.
