seyaá¹ guṇa-mayÄ« mÄyÄ
na tvÄm abhibhaviá¹£yati
mayÄ sametÄ kÄlena
kÄla-rÅ«peṇa bhÄgaÅ›aḥ
sÄ - that insurmountable; iyam - this; guṇa-mayÄ« - consisting of the three modes of material nature; mÄyÄ - illusory energy; na - not; tvÄm - you; abhibhaviá¹£yati - will be able to bewilder in the future; mayÄ - with Me; sametÄ - joined; kÄlena - eternal time; kÄla-rÅ«peṇa - in the form of time; bhÄgaÅ›aḥ - with her different parts.
When Lord Åšiva was present, his wife, DurgÄ, was also there. DurgÄ works in cooperation with the Supreme Personality of Godhead in creating the cosmic manifestation. The Lord says in Bhagavad-gÄ«tÄ (9.10), mayÄdhyaká¹£eṇa praká¹›tiḥ sÅ«yate sacarÄcaram: “The material energy [praká¹›ti] works under My direction, O son of KuntÄ«, and is producing all moving and unmoving beings.†Praká¹›ti is DurgÄ.
sṛṣá¹i-sthiti-pralaya-sÄdhana-Å›aktir ekÄ
chÄyeva yasya bhuvanÄni bibharti durgÄ
The entire cosmos is created by DurgÄ in cooperation with Lord Viṣṇu in the form of kÄla, time: Sa Ä«ká¹£ata lokÄn nu sá¹›jÄ. Sa imÄḻ lokÄn asá¹›jata. This is the version of the Vedas (Aitareya Upaniá¹£ad 1.1.1-2). MÄyÄ happens to be the wife of Lord Åšiva, and thus Lord Åšiva is in association with mÄyÄ, but Lord Viṣṇu here assures Lord Åšiva that this mÄyÄ will no longer be able to captivate him.
