एक एव चरेद् भिक्षुरात्मारामोऽनपाश्रयः ।
सर्वभूतसुहृच्छान्तो नारायणपरायणः ॥३॥

nÄrÄyaṇa-parÄyaṇaḥ

 ekaḥ - alone; eva - only; caret - can move; bhiká¹£uḥ - a sannyÄsÄ« taking alms; Ätma-ÄrÄmaḥ - fully satisfied in the self; anapÄÅ›rayaḥ - without depending on anything; sarva-bhÅ«ta-suhá¹›t - becoming a well-wisher of all living entities; Å›Äntaḥ - completely peaceful; nÄrÄyaṇa-parÄyaṇaḥ - becoming absolutely dependent on NÄrÄyaṇa and becoming His devotee.


Text

The sannyÄsÄ«, completely satisfied in the self, should live on alms begged from door to door. Not being dependent on any person or any place, he should always be a friendly well-wisher to all living beings and be a peaceful, unalloyed devotee of NÄrÄyaṇa. In this way he should move from one place to another.
