शौर्यं वीर्यं धृतिस्तेजस्त्यागश्चात्मजयः क्षमा ।
ब्रह्मण्यता प्रसादश्च सत्यं च क्षत्रलक्षणम् ॥२२॥

tyÄgaÅ› cÄtmajayaḥ ká¹£amÄ
brahmaṇyatÄ prasÄdaÅ› ca
satyaṠca kṣatra-lakṣaṇam

 Å›auryam - power in battle; vÄ«ryam - being unconquerable; dhá¹›tiḥ - patience (even in reverses, a ká¹£atriya is very grave); tejaḥ - ability to defeat others; tyÄgaḥ - giving charity; ca - and; Ätma-jayaḥ - not being overwhelmed by bodily necessities; ká¹£amÄ - forgiveness; brahmaṇyatÄ - faithfulness to the brahminical principles; prasÄdaḥ - jolliness in any condition of life; ca - and; satyam ca - and truthfulness; ká¹£atra-laká¹£aṇam - these are the symptoms of a ká¹£atriya.

To be influential in battle, unconquerable, patient, challenging and charitable, to control the bodily necessities, to be forgiving, to be attached to the brahminical nature and to be always jolly and truthful — these are the symptoms of the kṣatriya.
