maitreya uvÄca
ity arcitaḥ sa bhagavÄn
atidiÅ›yÄtmanaḥ padam
bÄlasya paÅ›yato dhÄma
svam agÄd garuá¸a-dhvajaḥ
maitreyaḥ uvÄca - the great sage Maitreya continued to speak; iti - thus; arcitaḥ - being honored and worshiped; saḥ - the Supreme Lord; bhagavÄn - the Personality of Godhead; atidiÅ›ya - after offering; Ätmanaḥ - His personal; padam - residence; bÄlasya - while the boy; paÅ›yataḥ - was looking on; dhÄma - to His abode; svam - own; agÄt - He returned; garuá¸a-dhvajaḥ - Lord Viṣṇu, whose flag bears the emblem of Garuá¸a.
From this verse it appears that Lord Viṣṇu awarded Dhruva MahÄrÄja the same abode in which He resides. His abode is described in the Bhagavad-gÄ«tÄ (15.6): yad gatvÄ na nivartante tad dhÄma paramaá¹ mama.
