अबाधन्त मुनीनन्ये एके पत्नीरतर्जयन् ।
अपरे जगृहुर्देवान्प्रत्यासन्नान्पलायितान् ॥१६॥

abÄdhanta munÄ«n anye
eke patnīr atarjayan
apare jagá¹›hur devÄn
pratyÄsannÄn palÄyitÄn

 abÄdhanta - blocked the way; munÄ«n - the sages; anye - others; eke - some; patnīḥ - the women; atarjayan - threatened; apare - others; jagá¹›huḥ - arrested; devÄn - the demigods; pratyÄsannÄn - near at hand; palÄyitÄn - who were fleeing.

Some blocked the way of the fleeing sages, some threatened the women assembled there, and some arrested the demigods who were fleeing the pandal.
