गते शतधृतौ क्षत्तः कर्दमस्तेन चोदितः ।
यथोदितं स्वदुहितः प्रादाद्विश्वसृजां ततः ॥२१॥

kardamas tena coditaḥ
yathoditaá¹ sva-duhitá¹á¸¥
prÄdÄd viÅ›va-sá¹›jÄá¹ tataḥ

 gate - after he departed; Å›ata-dhá¹›tau - Lord BrahmÄ; ká¹£attaḥ - O Vidura; kardamaḥ - Kardama Muni; tena - by him; coditaḥ - ordered; yathÄ-uditam - as told; sva-duhitá¹á¸¥ - his own daughters; prÄdÄt - handed over; viÅ›va-sá¹›jÄm - to the creators of the world's population; tataḥ - thereafter.

O Vidura, after the departure of BrahmÄ, Kardama Muni, having been ordered by BrahmÄ, handed over his nine daughters, as instructed, to the nine great sages who created the population of the world.
