तां स आपततीं वीक्ष्य भगवान्समवस्थितः ।
जग्राह लीलया प्राप्तां गरुत्मानिव पन्नगीम् ॥११॥

bhagavÄn samavasthitaḥ
jagrÄha lÄ«layÄ prÄptÄá¹
garutmÄn iva pannagÄ«m

 tÄm - that mace; saḥ - He; ÄpatatÄ«m - flying toward; vÄ«ká¹£ya - after seeing; bhagavÄn - the Supreme Personality of Godhead; samavasthitaḥ - stood firmly; jagrÄha - caught; lÄ«layÄ - easily; prÄptÄm - entered into His presence; garutmÄn - Garuá¸a; iva - as; pannagÄ«m - a serpent.

When the Lord saw the mace flying toward Him, He stood firmly where He was and caught it with the same ease as Garuá¸a, the king of birds, would seize a serpent.
