अन्तर्ग्रामेषु मुखतो वमन्त्यो वह्निमुल्बणम् ।
सृगालोलूकटङ्कारैः प्रणेदुरशिवं शिवाः ॥९॥

 antaḥ - in the interior; grÄmeá¹£u - in the villages; mukhataḥ - from their mouths; vamantyaḥ - vomiting; vahnim - fire; ulbaṇam - fearful; sá¹›gÄla - jackals; ulÅ«ka - owls; á¹­aá¹…kÄraiḥ - with their cries; praṇeduḥ - created their respective vibrations; aÅ›ivam - portentously; Å›ivÄḥ - the she-jackals.
