जघान रुन्धानमसह्यविक्रमं
स लीलयेभं मृगराडिवाम्भसि ।
तद्रक्तपङ्काङ्कितगण्डतुण्डो
यथा गजेन्द्रो जगतीं विभिन्दन् ॥३२॥

jaghÄna rundhÄnam asahya-vikramaá¹
sa lÄ«layebhaá¹ má¹›garÄḠivÄmbhasi
tad-rakta-paá¹…kÄá¹…kita-gaṇá¸a-tuṇá¸o
yathÄ gajendro jagatīṠvibhindan

 jaghÄna - killed; rundhÄnam - the obstructive enemy; asahya - unbearable; vikramam - prowess; saḥ - He; lÄ«layÄ - easily; ibham - the elephant; má¹›ga-rÄá¹­ - the lion; iva - like; ambhasi - in the water; tat-rakta - of his blood; paá¹…ka-aá¹…kita - smeared by the pool; gaṇá¸a - cheeks; tuṇá¸aḥ - tongue; yathÄ - as if; gajendraḥ - the elephant; jagatÄ«m - earth; vibhindan - digging.

Thereupon Lord Boar killed the demon within the water, just as a lion kills an elephant. The cheeks and tongue of the Lord became smeared with the blood of the demon, just as an elephant becomes reddish from digging in the purple earth.
