rÄma-patnyaḼ - the wives of Lord BalarÄma; ca - and; tat-deham - His body; upaguhya - embracing; agnim - the fire; ÄviĹan - entered; vasudeva-patnyaḼ - the wives of Vasudeva; tat-gÄtram - his body; pradyumna-ÄdÄŤn - Pradyumna and the others; hareḼ - of Lord Hari; snuᚣÄḼ - the daughters-in-law; kášášŁáša-patnyaḼ - the wives of Lord KášášŁáša; aviĹan - entered; agnim - the fire; rukmiášÄŤ-ÄdyÄḼ - led by Queen RukmiášÄŤ; tat-ÄtmikÄḼ - whose consciousness was completely absorbed in Him.
It is understood that the anguished scene described here is a display of the Lordâs illusory potency, adding a final dramatic note to Lord KášášŁášaâs pastimes on the earth. In reality, Lord KášášŁáša returned to His eternal abode in His original body, and His eternal associates returned with Him. This final heartbreaking scene of the Lordâs pastimes is a creation of the Lordâs internal potency that brings the Lordâs manifest pastimes to a perfect dramatic end.
