bhagavad-virahÄturÄḥ
upaguhya patÄ«á¹s tÄta
citÄm Äruruhuḥ striyaḥ

 prÄṇÄn - their lives; ca - and; vijahuḥ - they gave up; tatra - there; bhagavat - from the Personality of Godhead; viraha - because of separation; ÄturÄḥ - tormented; upagahya - embracing; patÄ«n - their husbands; tÄta - my dear ParÄ«ká¹£it; citÄm - the funeral pyre; Äruruhuḥ - they climbed upon; striyaḥ - the wives.

Tormented by separation from the Lord, His parents gave up their lives at that very spot. My dear ParÄ«ká¹£it, the wives of the YÄdavas then climbed onto the funeral pyres, embracing their dead husbands.
