kṛṣṇa-rÄmÄv apaÅ›yantaḥ
Å›okÄrtÄ vijahuḥ smá¹›tim
devakÄ« - DevakÄ«; rohiṇī - Rohiṇī; ca - also; eva - indeed; vasudevaḥ - Vasudeva; tathÄ - as well; sutau - their two sons; kṛṣṇa-rÄmau - Kṛṣṇa and RÄma; apaÅ›yantaḥ - not seeing; Å›oka-ÄrtÄḥ - feeling the pain of lamentation; vijahuḥ - they lost; smá¹›tim - their consciousness.
According to ÅšrÄ«la ViÅ›vanÄtha CakravartÄ« ṬhÄkura, the original DevakÄ«, Rohiṇī and other ladies of DvÄrakÄ actually remained in DvÄrakÄ, invisible to the eyes of the material world, whereas the demigods who represented partial aspects of DevakÄ«, Rohiṇī and so on went to PrabhÄsa to see their dead relatives.
