viá¹£á¹abhya cittaá¹ praṇayÄvaghÅ«rṇaá¹
dhairyeṇa rÄjan bahu-manyamÄnaḥ
ká¹›tÄñjaliḥ prÄha yadu-pravÄ«raá¹
śīrá¹£á¹‡Ä spṛśaá¹s tac-caraṇÄravindam
viá¹£á¹abhya - restraining; cittam - his mind; praṇaya - with love; avaghÅ«rṇam - completely agitated; dhairyeṇa - with steadfastness; rÄjan - O King; bahu-manyamÄnaḥ - feeling grateful; ká¹›ta-añjaliḥ - his hands folded; prÄha - he spoke; yadu-pravÄ«ram - to the greatest hero of the Yadus; śīrá¹£á¹‡Ä - with his head; spṛśan - touching; tat - His; caraṇa-aravindam - lotus feet.
According to ÅšrÄ«la JÄ«va GosvÄmÄ«, the fear of separation from Lord Kṛṣṇa was continually entering the mind of ÅšrÄ« Uddhava, and thus he tried to maintain his enthusiasm by remembering the Lord’s great kindness upon him. He steadied his mind with feelings of gratitude toward the Lord.
