mohitÄ mÄyayÄ viṣṇor
yayÄ sṛṣá¹iḥ pravartate
apÄyayat - she let them drink; stanam - from her breast; prÄ«tÄ - lovingly; suta - of her sons; sparÅ›a - because of the touch; parisnutam - drenched; mohitÄ - bewildered; mÄyayÄ - by the illusory energy; viṣṇoḥ - of Lord Viṣṇu; yayÄ - by which; sṛṣá¹iḥ - creation; pravartate - comes into being.
In the opinion of ÅšrÄ«la JÄ«va GosvÄmÄ«, the word sṛṣá¹i can here also refer to the creative process by which Lord Viṣṇu’s Yoga-mÄyÄ arranges the settings and situations of His pastimes. There is indeed no question of Mother DevakÄ« being affected by the material aspect of MÄyÄ.
