smarodgīthaḥ pariṣvaṅgaḥ
pataṅgaḥ kṣudrabhṛd ghṛṇī
á¹£aḠime mat-prasÄdena
punar yÄsyanti sad-gatim
smara-udgÄ«thaḥ pariá¹£vaá¹…gaḥ - Smara, UdgÄ«tha and Pariá¹£vaá¹…ga; pataá¹…gaḥ ká¹£udrabhá¹›t ghṛṇī - Pataá¹…ga, Ká¹£udrabhá¹›t and Ghṛṇī; á¹£aá¹ - six; ime - these; mat - My; prasÄdena - by the grace; punaḥ - again; yÄsyanti - will go; sat - of saintly persons; gatim - to the destination.
By My grace these six — Smara, Udgītha, Pariṣvaṅga, Pataṅga, Kṣudrabhṛt and Ghṛṇī — will return to the abode of pure saints.
These are the names the six children first had when they were sons of MarÄ«ci. The oldest, Smara, was called KÄ«rtimÄn when born again to Vasudeva, as recorded in the ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam (10.1.57):
kÄ«rtimantaá¹ prathama-jaá¹
kaá¹sÄyÄnakadundubhiḥ
arpayÄm Äsa ká¹›cchreṇa
so ’nṛtad ati-vihvalaḥ
“Vasudeva was very much disturbed by the fear of becoming a liar by breaking his promise. Thus with great pain he delivered his firstborn son, named KÄ«rtimÄn, into the hands of Kaá¹sa.â€
