tataÅ› caidyas tv asambhrÄnto
jagá¹›he khaá¸ga-carmaṇī
bhartsayan kṛṣṇa-pakṣīyÄn
rÄjñaḥ sadasi bhÄrata

 tataḥ - then; caidyaḥ - ÅšiÅ›upÄla; tu - but; asambhrÄntaḥ - unshaken; jagá¹›he - took up; khaá¸ga - his sword; carmaṇī - and shield; bhartsayan - insulting; kṛṣṇa - of Kṛṣṇa; pakṣīyÄn - the proponents; rÄjñaḥ - the kings; sadasi - in the assembly; bhÄrata - O descendant of Bharata.

Undaunted, ÅšiÅ›upÄla then took up his sword and shield in the midst of all the assembled kings, O BhÄrata, and hurled insults at those who sided with Lord Kṛṣṇa.
