tasmin su-saá¹…kula ibhÄÅ›va-ratha-dvipadbhiḥ
kṛṣṇam sa-bhÄryam upalabhya gá¹›hÄdhirÅ«á¸hÄḥ
nÄryo vikÄ«rya kusumair manasopaguhya
su-svÄgataá¹ vidadhur utsmaya-vÄ«ká¹£itena
tasmin - on that (road); su - very; saá¹…kule - crowded; ibha - with elephants; aÅ›va - horses; ratha - chariots; dvi-padbhiḥ - and foot soldiers; kṛṣṇam - Lord Kṛṣṇa; sa-bhÄryam - with His wives; upalabhya - catching sight of; gá¹›ha - of the homes; adhirÅ«á¸hÄḥ - having climbed to the tops; nÄryaḥ - the women; vikÄ«rya - scattering; kusumaiḥ - flowers; manasÄ - in their minds; upaguhya - embracing Him; su-svÄgatam - heartfelt welcome; vidadhuḥ - they gave Him; utsmaya - broadly smiling; vÄ«ká¹£itena - with their glances.
ÅšrÄ«la ÅšrÄ«dhara SvÄmÄ« comments that the ladies communicated through their affectionate glances their eager inquiries as to the comfort of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s trip, and so on. In other words, in their ecstasy they intensely desired to serve the Lord.
