nÄrÄyaṇo 'khila-bhavÄya gá¹›hÄ«ta-Å›aktiḥ
reme 'ṇga á¹£oá¸aÅ›a-sahasra-varÄá¹…ganÄnÄá¹
sa-vrÄ«á¸a-sauhá¹›da-nirÄ«ká¹£aṇa-hÄsa-juṣṭaḥ

 evam - thus; manuá¹£ya - of human beings; padavÄ«m - the path; anuvartamÄnaḥ - following; nÄrÄyaṇaḥ - the Supreme Lord, NÄrÄyaṇa; akhila - of everyone; bhavÄya - for the welfare; gá¹›hÄ«ta - having manifested; Å›aktiḥ - His potencies; reme - He enjoyed; aá¹…ga - my dear (King ParÄ«ká¹£it); á¹£oá¸aÅ›a - sixteen; sahasra - thousand; vara - most excellent; aá¹…ganÄnÄm - of women; sa-vrÄ«á¸a - shy; sauhá¹›da - and affectionate; nirÄ«ká¹£aṇa - by the glances; hÄsa - and laughter; juṣṭaḥ - satisfied.


Text

In this way Lord NÄrÄyaṇa imitated the ways of ordinary humans, manifesting His divine potencies for the benefit of all beings. Thus He enjoyed, dear King, in the company of His sixteen thousand exalted consorts, who served the Lord with their shy, affectionate glances and laughter.
