maniḥ kasmÄn na gá¹›hyate
labdhvÄ - achieving; etat - this; antaram - opportunity; rÄjan - O King (ParÄ«ká¹£it); Å›atadhanvÄnam - to ÅšatadhanvÄ; Å«catuḥ - said; akrÅ«ra-ká¹›tavarmÄṇau - AkrÅ«ra and Ká¹›tavarmÄ; maniḥ - the jewel; kasmÄt - why; na gá¹›hyate - should not be taken.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, O King, AkrÅ«ra and Ká¹›tavarmÄ went to ÅšatadhanvÄ and said, “Why not take the Syamantaka jewel?
AkrÅ«ra and Ká¹›tavarmÄ reasoned that since Kṛṣṇa and BalarÄma were absent from DvÄrakÄ, SatrÄjit could be killed and the jewel stolen. ÅšrÄ«la ÅšrÄ«dhara SvÄmÄ« mentions that these two must have flattered ÅšatadhanvÄ telling him, “You are much braver than we are; so you kill him.â€
