tÄhe Ära dambha-paripÄá¹­Ä«
tÄra yebÄ udgÄra, tÄre kaya 'amá¹›ta-sÄra',
gopÄ«ra mukha kare 'ÄlabÄá¹­Ä«'

 kṛṣṇa - Lord Kṛṣṇa; ye - what; khÄya - chews; tÄmbÅ«la - the betel; kahe - it is said; tÄra - of it; nÄhi - there is not; mÅ«la - price; tÄhe - over and above that; Ära - also; dambha-paripÄá¹­Ä« - complete pride; tÄra - of that; yebÄ - whatever; udgÄra - coming out; tÄre - that; kaya - is called; amá¹›ta-sÄra - the essence of the nectar; gopÄ«ra - of the gopÄ«s; mukha - the mouth; kare - makes; ÄlabÄá¹­Ä« - spittoon.

“The betel chewed by Kṛṣṇa is priceless, and the remnants of such chewed betel from His mouth are said to be the essence of nectar. When the gopīs accept these remnants, their mouths become His spittoons.
