Å›iva-kÄñcÄ« - to the holy place named Åšiva-kÄñcÄ«; ÄsiyÄ - coming; kaila - did; Å›iva daraÅ›ana - visiting the temple of Lord Åšiva; prabhÄve - by His influence; vaiṣṇava kaila - turned into Vaiṣṇavas; saba - all; Å›aiva-gaṇa - the devotees of Lord Åšiva.
Arriving at Åšiva-kÄñcÄ«, Caitanya MahÄprabhu visited the deity of Lord Åšiva. By His influence, He converted all the devotees of Lord Åšiva into Vaiṣṇavas.
Åšiva-kÄñcÄ« is also known as KÄñcÄ«puram, or the Benares of southern India. In Åšiva-kÄñcÄ« there are hundreds of temples containing symbolic representations of Lord Åšiva, and one of these temples is said to be very, very old.
