 gokarṇe - in the place named Gokarṇa; Å›iva - the temple of Lord Åšiva; dekhi' - seeing; ÄilÄ - came; dvaipÄyani - to DvaipÄyani; sÅ«rpÄraka-tÄ«rthe - to the holy place named SÅ«rpÄraka; ÄilÄ - came; nyÄsi-Å›iromaṇi - the best of the sannyÄsÄ«s, ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu.

After seeing PañcÄpsarÄ, ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu went to Gokarṇa. While there, He visited the temple of Lord Åšiva, and then He went to DvaipÄyani. ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu, the crown jewel of all sannyÄsÄ«s, then went to SÅ«rpÄraka-tÄ«rtha.

Purport

Gokarṇa is situated in North Kanara, in the Karnataka state. It is about thirty-three miles southeast of Karwar. This place is very famous for the temple of Lord Åšiva known as MahÄ-baleÅ›vara. Hundreds and thousands of pilgrims come to see this temple.

SÅ«rpÄraka is about twenty-six miles north of Bombay. In the Maharashtra province, near Bombay, is a district known as ThÄnÄ and a place known as SopÄrÄ. SÅ«rpÄraka is mentioned in the MahÄbhÄrata (ÅšÄnti-parva, chapter 41, verses 66-67).
