sÄ«tayÄ - by mother SÄ«tÄ; ÄrÄdhitaḥ - being called for; vahniḥ - the fire-god; chÄyÄ-sÄ«tÄm - the illusory form of mother SÄ«tÄ; ajÄ«janat - created; tÄm - her; jahÄra - kidnapped; daÅ›a-grÄ«vaḥ - the ten-faced RÄvaṇa; sÄ«tÄ - mother SÄ«tÄ; vahni-puram - to the abode of the fire-god; gatÄ - departed; parÄ«ká¹£Ä-samaye - at the time of testing; vahnim - the fire; chÄyÄ-sÄ«tÄ - the illusory form of SÄ«tÄ; viveÅ›a - entered; sÄ - she; vahniḥ - the fire-god; sÄ«tÄm - the original mother SÄ«tÄ; samÄnÄ«ya - bringing back; tat-purastÄt - in His presence; anÄ«nayat - brought back.
“When he was petitioned by mother SÄ«tÄ, the fire-god, Agni, brought forth an illusory form of SÄ«tÄ, and RÄvaṇa, who had ten heads, kidnapped the false SÄ«tÄ. The original SÄ«tÄ then went to the abode of the fire-god. When Lord RÄmacandra tested the body of SÄ«tÄ, it was the false, illusory SÄ«tÄ that entered the fire. At that time the fire-god brought the original SÄ«tÄ from his abode and delivered her to Lord RÄmacandra.â€
