sÄ«tÄ laÃ±Ä rÄkhilena pÄrvatÄ«ra sthÄne
'mÄyÄ-sÄ«tÄ' diyÄ agni vañcilÄ rÄvaṇe

 sÄ«tÄ laÃ±Ä - taking away mother SÄ«tÄ; rÄkhilena - kept; pÄrvatÄ«ra sthÄne - with mother PÄrvatÄ«, or goddess DurgÄ; mÄyÄ-sÄ«tÄ - the false, illusory form of SÄ«tÄ; diyÄ - delivering; agni - fire-god; vañcilÄ - cheated; rÄvaṇe - the demon RÄvaṇa.


Text

The fire-god, Agni, took away the real SÄ«tÄ and brought her to the place of PÄrvatÄ«, goddess DurgÄ. An illusory form of mother SÄ«tÄ was then delivered to RÄvaṇa, and in this way RÄvaṇa was cheated.
