nārada kahe - Nārada Muni replied; patha bhuli' - leaving the general path; āilāṅa - I have come; puchite - to inquire from you; mane - in my mind; eka - one; samśaya haya - there is a doubt; tāhā - that; khaṇḍāite - to cause to break.

“Nārada Muni replied, ‘Leaving the path, I have come to you to settle a doubt that is in my mind.
