sakhÄ guruḥ suhá¹›do daivam iá¹£á¹am
na - not; karhicit - at any time; mat-parÄḥ - devotees of Me; Å›Änta-rÅ«pe - O mother, the symbol of peacefulness; naá¹…ká¹£yanti - will perish; na u - nor; me - My; animiá¹£aḥ - time; leá¸hi - licks up (destroys); hetiḥ - weapon; yeá¹£Äm - of whom; aham - I; priyaḥ - dear; ÄtmÄ - the Supersoul; sutaḥ - the son; ca - and; sakhÄ - friend; guruḥ - spiritual master; suhá¹›daḥ - well-wisher; daivam - the Deity; iá¹£á¹am - chosen.
This was spoken by Kapiladeva to His mother DevahÅ«ti and is recorded in ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam (3.25.38). Kapiladeva instructed His mother in sÄá¹…khya-yoga, but the importance of bhakti-yoga is mentioned here. Later sÄá¹…hkya-yoga was imitated by atheists, whose system was founded by a different Kapiladeva, Ṛṣi Kapiladeva.
