Text

The Lord stayed at RÄghava Paṇá¸ita’s place for only one day. The next morning, He went to KumÄrahaá¹á¹a, where ÅšrÄ«vÄsa ṬhÄkura lived.

Purport

The present name of KumÄrahaá¹á¹a is HÄlisahara. After ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu accepted sannyÄsa, ÅšrÄ«vÄsa ṬhÄkura left NavadvÄ«pa due to separation from Him and went to HÄlisahara to live.

From KumÄrahaá¹á¹a, ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu went to KÄñcanapallÄ« (also known as KÄá¹…caá¸ÄpÄá¸Ä), where ÅšivÄnanda Sena lived. After staying two days at ÅšivÄnanda’s house, the Lord went to the house of VÄsudeva Datta. From there He went to the western side of NavadvÄ«pa, to the village called VidyÄnagara. From VidyÄnagara He went to KuliyÄ-grÄma and stayed at MÄdhava dÄsa’s house. He stayed there one week and excused the offenses of DevÄnanda and others. Due to KavirÄja GosvÄmī’s mentioning the name of ÅšÄntipurÄcÄrya, some people think that KuliyÄ is a village near KÄá¹…caá¸ÄpÄá¸Ä. Due to this mistaken idea, they invented another place known as New KuliyÄra PÄá¹a. Actually such a place does not exist. Leaving the house of VÄsudeva Datta, ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu went to the house of Advaita Ä€cÄrya. From there He went to the western side of NavadvÄ«pa, to VidyÄnagara, and stayed at the house of VidyÄ-vÄcaspati. These accounts are given in the Caitanya-bhÄgavata, Caitanya-maá¹…gala, Caitanyacandrodaya-nÄá¹aka and Caitanya-carita-kÄvya. ÅšrÄ«la KavirÄja GosvÄmÄ« has not vividly described this entire tour; therefore, on the basis of Caitanya-caritÄmá¹›ta, some unscrupulous people have invented a place called KuliyÄra PÄá¹a near KÄá¹…caá¸ÄpÄá¸Ä
