arjunaḥ uvÄcha–Arjuna said: (he) madhusÅ«dana–O MadhusÅ«dan; ayam–this; yogaḥ–yoga; yaḥ proktaḥ–that has been described; tvayÄ– by You; sÄmyena–as equanimity: aham–I; na paÅ›yÄmi–cannot conceive; etasya–its; sthirÄm–stable; sthitim–state; chañchalatvÄt–due to the fickle nature; (manasaḥ)–of the mind. Arjuna said: O Madhusūdan, because of the fickle nature of the mind, I cannot conceive how one canmaintain the equilibrium in yoga that You have described.
