sañjaya uvÄcha evam uktvÄ hṛṣīkeÅ›aá¹ guá¸ÄkeÅ›aḥ parantapaḥ na yotsya iti govindam uktvÄ tūṣṇīṠbabhÅ«va ha [9]

  1. sañjayaḥ uvÄcha–Sañjaya said: evam uktvÄ–Having spoken thus; hṛṣīkeÅ›am–unto ÅšrÄ« Kṛṣṇa; guá¸ÄkeÅ›aḥ–sense-controlled Arjuna, the conqueror of sleep; parantapaḥ–the chastiser of the enemy; uktvÄ iti–then said; govindam–to Govinda: (aham) na yotsye–“I shall not fightâ€; babhÅ«va ha–and then was; [9]

Sañjaya said: Thus the valiant, vigilant Arjuna spoke to Kṛṣṇa, who is HṛṣīkeÅ›, the Lord of the senses of all beings. Then he declared, “Govinda, I will not fightâ€, and fell silent.
