kÄrpaṇya-doá¹£a upahata-svabhÄvaḥ–Losing heart, thus losing the courage of the warrior by apprehending the fall of the dynasty; (tathÄ)– and; dharma-sammÅ«á¸ha-chetÄḥ–bewildered in determining my duty and non-duty; (aham) pá¹›chchhÄmi–I am asking; tvÄm–You; (tvam) brÅ«hi–You please say; tat–that (course of action); yat–which; syÄt–may; niÅ›chitam–be ascertained; Å›reyaḥ–as best; me–for me. aham–I am; te Å›iá¹£yaḥ–ready for Your counsel and direction; (ataḥ)–therefore; Å›Ädhi–please instruct; mÄm–me; tvÄm prapannam–Your surrendered soul.
