tu–But; (he) pÄrtha arjuna–O PÄrtha, Arjuna; yayÄ dhá¹›tyÄ–determination by which; dharma-kÄma-arthÄn–religiosity, desire, and wealth; dhÄrayate–are held; (prÄdhÄnyena)–foremost; prasaá¹…gena–by the contact of which; (bhavati)–one becomes; phala-ÄkÄá¹…kṣī–desirous of their fruits; sÄ dhá¹›tiḥ–that determination; rÄjasī–is of the nature of passion.
