arjuna uvÄcha sannyÄsasya mahÄ-bÄho tattvam ichchhÄmi veditum tyÄgasya cha hṛṣīkeÅ›a pá¹›thak keÅ›inisÅ«dana [1]

  1. arjunaḥ uvÄcha–Arjuna said: (he) mahÄ-bÄho–O mighty hero; (he) hṛṣīkeÅ›a–O Lord of all senses; (he) keÅ›inisÅ«dana–O slayer of the KeÅ›i demon; ichchÄmi–I wish; veditum–to understand; tattvam–the subject; sannyÄsasya–of renunciation; tyÄgasya cha–and detachment; [1]

Arjuna said: O almighty Lord, slayer of the demon KeÅ›i, I wish to understand the subject of renunciation(sannyÄs) and detachment (tyÄga), separately.
