न व्यथन्ति न हृष्यन्ति यत आत्मागुणाश्रयः ॥५०॥
prÄyaÅ›aḥ sÄdhavo loke
parair dvandveá¹£u yojitÄḥ
na vyathanti na hṛṣyanti
yata ÄtmÄguṇÄÅ›rayaḥ
Generally the devotees in this world, on experiencing distress and happiness by others’ actions, do not become agitated and do not rejoice, since they do not take shelter of material happiness and distress.
This is reasonable. Dvandvesu means in happiness and distress. Agunasrayah means “they are not the shelter of material happiness and distress.â€
