saḿstūyamāno bhagavān

rājabhir mukta-bandhanaiḥ

tān āha karuṇas tāta

śaraṇyaḥ ślakṣṇayā girā

sri-sukah uvaca -- Sukadeva Gosvami said; samstuyamanah -- being nicely praised; bhagavan -- the Supreme Lord; rajabhih -- by the kings; mukta -- freed; bandhanaih -- from their bondage; tan -- to them; aha -- He spoke; karunah -- merciful; tata -- my dear (King Parikshit); saranyah -- the giver of shelter; slakshnaya -- with gentle; gira -- words.

Sukadeva Gosvami said: Thus the kings, now freed from bondage, glorified the Supreme Lord. Then, my dear Parikshit, that merciful bestower of shelter spoke to them in a gentle voice.
