pṛthām samāgatya kṛtābhivādanas
tayāti-hārdārdra-dṛśābhirambhitaḥ
āpṛṣṭavāḿs tāḿ kuśalaḿ saha-snuṣāḿ
pitṛ-ṣvasāram paripṛṣṭa-bāndhavaḥ
pritham -- to Queen Kunti; samagatya -- going; krita -- offering; abhivadanah -- His obeisances; taya -- by her; ati -- extreme; harda -- with affection; ardra -- wet; drisa -- whose eyes; abhirambhitah -- embraced; aprishtavan -- He asked; tam -- from her; kusalam -- about her welfare; saha -- together; snusham -- with her daughter-in-law, Draupadi; pitri -- of His father, Vasudeva; svasaram -- the sister; pariprishta -- inquired in detail; bandhavah -- about their relatives (living in Dvaraka).
Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura envisions that as Lord Krishna was sitting on His seat, He saw His aunt Kunti approaching in great eagerness to see Him. He then rose at once, quickly went up to her and offered His obeisances. Her eyes moistened with extreme love, she embraced Him and smelled His head.
