यक्ष्यमाणोऽथ शर्यातिश्च्यवनस्याश्रमं गतः ।
ददर्श दुहितुः पार्श्वे पुरुषं सूर्यवर्चसम् ॥१८॥

yaká¹£yamÄṇo 'tha Å›aryÄtiÅ›
cyavanasyÄÅ›ramaá¹ gataḥ
dadarÅ›a duhituḥ pÄrÅ›ve
puruṣaṠsūrya-varcasam

 yaká¹£yamÄṇaḥ - desiring to perform a yajña; atha - thus; Å›aryÄtiḥ - King ÅšaryÄti; cyavanasya - of Cyavana Muni; ÄÅ›ramam - to the residence; gataḥ - having gone; dadarÅ›a - he saw; duhituḥ - of his daughter; pÄrÅ›ve - by the side; puruá¹£am - a man; sÅ«rya-varcasam - beautiful and effulgent like the sun.

Thereafter, King ÅšaryÄti, desiring to perform a sacrifice, went to the residence of Cyavana Muni. There he saw by the side of his daughter a very beautiful young man, as bright as the sun.
