एवं व्यवसितो राजन् भगवान् स महायशाः ।
अस्तौषीदादिपुरुषमिलायाः पुंस्त्वकाम्यया ॥२१॥

evaá¹ vyavasito rÄjan
bhagavÄn sa mahÄ-yaÅ›Äḥ
astauṣīd Ädi-puruá¹£am
ilÄyÄḥ puá¹stva-kÄmyayÄ

 evam - thus; vyavasitaḥ - deciding; rÄjan - O King ParÄ«ká¹£it; bhagavÄn - the most powerful; saḥ - Vasiṣṭha; mahÄ-yaÅ›Äḥ - very famous; astauṣīt - offered prayers; Ädi-puruá¹£am - unto the Supreme Person, Lord Viṣṇu; ilÄyÄḥ - of IlÄ; puá¹stva-kÄmyayÄ - for the transformation into a male.

Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said: O King ParÄ«ká¹£it, after the most famous and powerful Vasiṣṭha made this decision, he offered prayers to the Supreme Person, Viṣṇu, to transform IlÄ into a male.
