महेन्द्रः श्लक्ष्णया वाचा सान्त्वयित्वा महामतिः ।
अभ्यभाषत तत् सर्वं शिक्षितं पुरुषोत्तमात् ॥३०॥

mahendraḥ Å›lakṣṇayÄ vÄcÄ
sÄntvayitvÄ mahÄ-matiḥ
abhyabhÄá¹£ata tat sarvaá¹
Å›iká¹£itaá¹ puruá¹£ottamÄt

 mahÄ-indraḥ - the King of heaven, Indra; Å›lakṣṇayÄ - very mild; vÄcÄ - by words; sÄntvayitvÄ - pleasing Bali MahÄrÄja very much; mahÄ-matiḥ - the most intelligent person; abhyabhÄá¹£ata - addressed; tat - that; sarvam - everything; Å›iká¹£itam - that was learned; puruá¹£a-uttamÄt - from Lord Viṣṇu.

After pleasing Bali MahÄrÄja with mild words, Lord Indra, the King of the demigods, who was most intelligent, very politely submitted all the proposals he had learned from the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Viṣṇu.
