श्रीशुक उवाच
राजन्नुदितमेतत् ते हरेः कर्माघनाशनम् ।
गजेन्द्रमोक्षणं पुण्यं रैवतं त्वन्तरं शृणु ॥१॥

rÄjann uditam etat te
hareḥ karmÄgha-nÄÅ›anam
gajendra-moká¹£aṇaá¹ puṇyaá¹
raivataṠtv antaraṠśṛṇu

 Å›rÄ«-Å›ukaḥ uvÄca - ÅšrÄ« Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said; rÄjan - O King; uditam - already described; etat - this; te - unto you; hareḥ - of the Lord; karma - activity; agha-nÄÅ›anam - by hearing which one can be freed from all misfortune; gajendra-moká¹£aṇam - deliverance of Gajendra, the King of the elephants; puṇyam - very pious to hear and describe; raivatam - about Raivata Manu; tu - but; antaram - in this millennium; Å›á¹›á¹‡u - kindly hear from me.

Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« continued: O King, I have described to you the pastime of Gajendra-moká¹£aṇa, which is most pious to hear. By hearing of such activities of the Lord, one can be freed from all sinful reactions. Now please listen as I describe Raivata Manu.
