गोब्राह्मणार्थे हिंसायां नानृतं स्याज्जुगुप्सितम् ॥४३॥

vá¹›tty-arthe prÄṇa-saá¹…kaá¹e
go-brÄhmaṇÄrthe hiá¹sÄyÄá¹
nÄná¹›taá¹ syÄj jugupsitam
strÄ«á¹£u - to encourage a woman and bring her under control; narma-vivÄhe - in joking or in a marriage ceremony; ca - also; vá¹›tti-arthe - for earning one's livelihood, as in business; prÄṇa-saá¹…kaá¹e - or in time of danger; go-brÄhmaṇa-arthe - for the sake of cow protection and brahminical culture; hiá¹sÄyÄm - for any person who is going to be killed because of enmity; na - not; aná¹›tam - falsity; syÄt - becomes; jugupsitam - abominable.
In flattering a woman to bring her under control, in joking, in a marriage ceremony, in earning one’s livelihood, when one’s life is in danger, in protecting cows and brahminical culture, or in protecting a person from an enemy’s hand, falsity is never condemned.
Thus end the Bhaktivedanta purports of the Eighth Canto, Nineteenth Chapter, of the ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam, entitled “Lord VÄmanadeva Begs Charity from Bali MahÄrÄja.â€
