अन्येऽप्येवं प्रतिद्वन्द्वान्वाय्वग्निवरुणादयः ।
सूदयामासुरसुरान् मृगान्केसरिणो यथा ॥४२॥

anye 'py evaá¹ pratidvandvÄn
vÄyv-agni-varuṇÄdayaḥ
sÅ«dayÄm Äsur asurÄn
má¹›gÄn kesariṇo yathÄ

 anye - others; api - also; evam - in this way; pratidvandvÄn - the opposing party of belligerants; vÄyu - the demigod known as VÄyu; agni - the demigod known as Agni; varuṇa-Ädayaḥ - the demigod known as Varuṇa and others; sÅ«dayÄm Äsuḥ - began to kill vigorously; asurÄn - all the demons; má¹›gÄn - deer; kesariṇaḥ - lions; yathÄ - just as.

VÄyu, Agni, Varuṇa and other demigods began killing the demons who opposed them, just as lions kill deer in a forest.
