श्रीशुक उवाच
अथो सुराः प्रत्युपलब्धचेतसः
परस्य पुंसः परयानुकम्पया ।
जघ्नुर्भृशं शक्रसमीरणादय
स्तांस्तान्रणे यैरभिसंहताः पुरा ॥१॥

Å›rÄ«-Å›uka uvÄca
atho surÄḥ pratyupalabdha-cetasaḥ
parasya puá¹saḥ parayÄnukampayÄ
jaghnur bhṛśaá¹ Å›akra-samÄ«raṇÄdayas
tÄá¹s tÄn raṇe yair abhisaá¹hatÄḥ purÄ

 Å›rÄ«-Å›ukaḥ uvÄca - ÅšrÄ« Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said; atho - thereafter; surÄḥ - all the demigods; pratyupalabdha-cetasaḥ - being enlivened again by revival of their consciousness; parasya - of the Supreme; puá¹saḥ - of the Personality of Godhead; parayÄ - supreme; anukampayÄ - by the mercy; jaghnuḥ - began to beat; bhṛśam - again and again; Å›akra - Indra; samÄ«raṇa - VÄyu; Ädayaḥ - and others; tÄn tÄn - to those demons; raṇe - in the fight; yaiḥ - by whom; abhisaá¹hatÄḥ - they were beaten; purÄ - before.

Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said: Thereafter, by the supreme grace of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, ÅšrÄ« Hari, all the demigods, headed by Indra and VÄyu, were brought back to life. Being enlivened, the demigods began severely beating the very same demons who had defeated them before.
