श्रीबादरायणिरुवाच
अथ देवऋषी राजन् सम्परेतं नृपात्मजम् ।
दर्शयित्वेति होवाच ज्ञातीनामनुशोचताम् ॥१॥

atha deva-ṛṣī rÄjan
samparetaá¹ ná¹›pÄtmajam
darÅ›ayitveti hovÄca
jñÄtÄ«nÄm anuÅ›ocatÄm

 Å›rÄ«-bÄdarÄyaṇiḥ uvÄca - ÅšrÄ« Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said; atha - thus; deva-ṛṣiḥ - the great sage NÄrada; rÄjan - O King; samparetam - dead; ná¹›pa-Ätmajam - the son of the King; darÅ›ayitvÄ - making visible; iti - thus; ha - indeed; uvÄca - explained; jñÄtÄ«nÄm - to all the relatives; anuÅ›ocatÄm - who were lamenting.

ÅšrÄ« Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said: My dear King ParÄ«ká¹£it, by his mystic power the great sage NÄrada brought the dead son into the vision of all the lamenting relatives and then spoke as follows.
