bhá¹›tyÄḥ Å›reṇyo 'tha mantriṇaḥ
paurÄ jÄnapadÄ bhÅ«pÄ
ÄtmajÄ vaÅ›a-vartinaḥ
api - whether; dÄrÄḥ - wives; prajÄ - citizens; amÄtyÄḥ - and secretaries; bhá¹›tyÄḥ - servants; Å›reṇyaḥ - merchants; atha - as well as; mantriṇaḥ - ministers; paurÄḥ - inmates of the palace; jÄnapadÄḥ - the provincial governors; bhÅ«pÄḥ - landholders; Ätma-jÄḥ - sons; vaÅ›a-vartinaḥ - under your full control.
The master or king and his subordinates should be interdependent. Through cooperation, both of them can be happy.
