भ्रमद्भ्रुवोरन्तरेण साङ्कर्षणो नाम रुद्र एकादशव्यूहस्त्र्यक्षस्त्रिशिखं
शूलमुत्तम्भयन्नुदतिष्ठत् ॥३॥
yasya ha vÄ idaá¹ kÄlenopasañjihÄ«rá¹£ato 'mará¹£a-viracita-rucira-bhramad-bhruvor antareṇa sÄá¹…kará¹£aṇo nÄma rudra ekÄdaÅ›a-vyÅ«has try-aká¹£as tri-Å›ikhaṠśūlam uttambhayann udatiá¹£á¹hat
yasya - of whom; ha vÄ - indeed; idam - this (material world); kÄlena - in due course of time; upasañjihÄ«rá¹£ataḥ - desiring to destroy; amará¹£a - by anger; viracita - formed; rucira - very beautiful; bhramat - moving; bhruvoḥ - the two eyebrows; antareṇa - from between; sÄá¹…kará¹£aṇaḥ nÄma - named SÄá¹…kará¹£aṇa; rudraḥ - an incarnation of Lord Åšiva; ekÄdaÅ›a-vyÅ«haḥ - who has eleven expansions; tri-aká¹£aḥ - three eyes; tri-Å›ikham - having three points; śūlam - a trident; uttambhayan - raising; udatiá¹£á¹hat - arose.
At the time of devastation, when Lord Anantadeva desires to destroy the entire creation, He becomes slightly angry. Then from between His two eyebrows appears three-eyed Rudra, carrying a trident. This Rudra, who is known as SÄá¹…kará¹£aṇa, is the embodiment of the eleven Rudras, or incarnations of Lord Åšiva. He appears in order to devastate the entire creation.
In each creation, the living entities are given a chance to close their business as conditioned souls. When they misuse this opportunity and do not go back home, back to Godhead, Lord Saṅkarṣaṇa becomes angry. The eleven Rudras, expansions of Lord Śiva, come out of Lord Saṅkarṣaṇa’s eyebrows due to His angry mood, and all of them together devastate the entire creation.
